How Laurisilva Heights collects, uses and protects your personal data when you contact us about property on Madeira.

Last updated: 9 August 2026

Who we are

Laurisilva Heights operates this website and provides property search, sales, construction, management and purchase compliance services on Madeira, Portugal.

Controller: [registered company name], [registered address], Madeira, Portugal. Tax number (NIPC): [NIPC].
Contact for privacy matters: [email address].

If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Portuguese supervisory authority, the Comissao Nacional de Protecao de Dados (CNPD), www.cnpd.pt.

What we collect

When you submit a form or the popup on this site we collect your name, your email address, your phone number, your Telegram username if you give one, the service you selected, anything you write in the message field, the page you submitted from, and the date and time.

Our hosting and security systems also process your IP address and browser user agent as part of ordinary server logs and our anti spam rate limiting.

We do not ask for special category data such as health or political opinions, and we do not collect financial documents through this website. Documents needed for a property purchase are handled separately, under a written agreement with you.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

  • To answer your enquiry and arrange the free consultation you asked for. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before entering into a contract, Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, and your consent, Article 6(1)(a).
  • To provide the service if you go on to instruct us. Legal basis: performance of a contract, Article 6(1)(b).
  • To keep the website working and free of automated spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a functioning website, Article 6(1)(f).
  • To meet legal obligations, including anti money laundering checks where we assist with a purchase. Legal basis: legal obligation, Article 6(1)(c).

We do not use your details for marketing unless you separately ask us to.

Who sees your data

Your submission is stored in this website database and is also sent to our team as a notification message through Telegram, using the Telegram Bot API. That means your name and contact details are transmitted to, and stored by, Telegram as part of delivering that message. Telegram own privacy policy applies to that processing: telegram.org/privacy.

Other recipients are our website hosting provider and, only where your transaction requires it, the lawyer, notary, bank or camara municipal involved in your matter.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising.

Transfers outside the EEA

Telegram operates outside the European Economic Area. Where your data leaves the EEA it is transferred under the safeguards permitted by Chapter V of the GDPR.

If you would rather your details did not pass through Telegram, contact us by email instead and say so. We will handle your enquiry without a Telegram notification.

How long we keep it

  • Form submissions stored in the website: up to 24 months from your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Bot delivery logs, which contain the text of the notification: 90 days by default.
  • Records connected to a completed transaction: for as long as Portuguese tax and anti money laundering law requires, which is generally ten years.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, and provide it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent you can withdraw it at any time, which does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

To exercise any of these rights, write to [email address]. We answer within one month.

Cookies

This website sets the cookies WordPress needs in order to work, and Elementor sets a small number of functional cookies, including one that remembers the popup has already been shown to you so that it does not reappear on every page.

We do not run advertising or cross site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser. The site will still work, although the popup may reappear.

Spam protection

To stop automated submissions we use a hidden field that only bots fill in, and we limit how many times the same connection can submit a form within an hour. Neither of these sends your data to a third party.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top of the page shows the current version.
